Fundamentals
of Architectural Acoustics
and Noise Control |
| The performance
of any sound control design depends on how well the design
and construction team can manage owner expectations, code
requirements, and proper assembly of sound control assemblies
in buildings. Noise is the #1 complaint of both patients and
staff in hospitals (J Hopkins Study) and the number two litigation
issue in construction. Remediation for noise can cost up to
10 times more than if addressed in the initial design phase.
|
|
This program will cover
the basics of acoustics, how sound is measured and how construction
assemblies are rated. In addition, strategies of designing
high performance sound control wall assemblies will be addressed
from strengths to limitations. The latest technologies in
sound transmission reductions will be introduced and actual
drawings and on site examples will be used during the presentation.
